Make a Gift = Invest in the Lives of Today’s and Tomorrow’s Leaders

Northern Seminary is a global digital seminary, where individuals can learn from world-class faculty while thoughtfully engaging the pressing questions of today. We do this through rigorous biblical scholarship and robust theology. We are a place where many people come to deconstruct their faith while developing tools in its reconstruction. We are proud of our American Baptist roots and continued affiliation, while many members of our community come from a variety of Christian traditions.

Students who attend Northern describe their experience as lifegiving and liberating. We are committed to keeping seminary affordable, which means tuition only covers a portion of the total cost to provide a seminary education to our students. A gift to Northern Seminary allows us to continue to provide an education that not only transforms one life, but that multiplies as that education is shared with others.

Thank you for supporting our mission!

Amy Lee Stockton Legacy Society

Estate planning may seem a bit daunting, but with the right strategy you can establish a long term plan for the people and organizations that you love. To assist in this process, Northern Seminary has established the Amy Lee Stockton Legacy Society. This society, which is named after Northern’s first student who later became the first society member, has endured as a resource for those visionary leaders who wish to leave a legacy beyond their lifetime.  It is never too late or too early to establish a plan for your estate.

Alumni Story: Cana Roth

Cana Roth is continuing her family’s legacy – with a twist. Her father and grandfather were both pastors. Roth never dreamed she, too, would be leading a church. But in January, 2015, she became the first female pastor of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church  in Springfield, Illinois.

When Roth graduated from Houghton College with a degree in Communication with a minor in Music, she planned to build a career in either television production or theater. “As I tried making my way down that career path, nothing seemed to be working out for me,” she said. “In the year following college I found myself in a place I did not expect – living with my parents, broke, and working two part-time jobs. I felt like I had made a wrong turn somewhere and my life was shaping up to be a failure, and that’s when God broke in.”
